Michael Taylor is the founder of the Paupers Press, the hugely respected fine art print and publishing studio based in Hoxton, London. Since 1986 it has worked with many leading and emerging contemporary artists, both by commission as well as publishing projects under its own name. Paupers has worked for some of the leading UK galleries such as White Cube, Cristea Roberts and Marlborough, realising finely crafted and ambitious print projects with artists such as Tracey Emin, Cornelia Parker, Grayson Perry and Chris Ofili. The Mechanical Hand: Artists Projects at Paupers Press was published in 2012 alongside a major touring exhibition of 200 works to celebrate its 25th anniversary.
Michael is a master printmaker, and having taught for many years at Central St. Martins, Norwich and Camberwell Schools of Art, he continues his own practice as well as working as co-founder/director of Standpoint, an artist run gallery, studio and education programme.
