Description
Spend the day learning how to lino-print a 3-colour image onto textiles using the reduction technique in our fully equipped workshop!
Our lino printing onto textile course explores relief printing onto cloth using bespoke designed and carved lino block. There will be examples supplied to show the process which will assist in understanding the theory of the procedure, ready for the planning your design prior to committing to the lino.
During this workshop you will be exploring the reduction method of block printing using one piece of lino, with the aim of producing a three coloured print working from the lightest colour section through to the darkest tone to build up the layers of colours. Each section during the reduction process will be registered onto the fabric and applied using your own pressure, the block can be re-inked and reprinted in the same colour or cleaned and another colourway chosen before moving onto the next cutting stage.
This course aims to guide you through the reduction process and highlight the versatility of this printing method using textile block printing inks.
