Description
Learn the basic and technical skills to create a multi coloured lino print using the jigsaw method of separating colours within one block. Over the course of the two days, you will be guided through designing, cutting, block separation, mixing coloured inks and hand printing to execute your very own unique print.
The course is aimed at giving you freedom of creativity, whilst understanding the limitations, in order for you to achieve your desired small edition of final art prints.
Your tutor: Bronte Adam
Bronte Adam is a printmaker who specialises in relief printing, her preferred method being lino and woodblock. Bronte particularly enjoys the challenge of carving intricate details into her print blocks which she combines with multi coloured separation, giving her clean and vibrant prints. Her prints bring to life galah cockatoos perched in eucalyptus trees or plump ripe grapefruits nestled among leaves. Bronte studied printed textiles and surface pattern design at Leeds Arts University. She has worked both as a freelance artist and as a commercial designer, producing prints for home textiles.
Experience level
Beginners welcome as well as experienced printmakers to inform and develop their existing practice.

Itinerary :
The course runs over two days, the first day will focus on drawing and designing your print and then cutting and carving the lino block. Cutting is a considered, slow and mindful process which means it can run into the second day depending on the complexities of your image – but that’s ok. The following day will focus on separating your coloured elements in the block. Mixing your inks and exploring the process and joy of hand printing!
