Description
Are you a primary school teacher, educator or workshop facilitator looking for a safe, quick process to use in classrooms or pass on to others? Perhaps you’re new to printmaking or looking to expand or refresh your printmaking skills? Join artist Rachel Richardson for this hands-on, practical session that will explore mono-type and mono-print techniques using a gelli plate print and without the need for a press!
This session will offer attendees the opportunity to print from a gelli plate using paper stencils and a variety of found objects such as bubble wrap and cardboard, you will explore composition, colour, pattern and texture. Water-based inks are used, along with inexpensive materials which can be easily sourced. Multiple colour prints will be explored and achieved from overlaying prints.
The plate itself is a flexible yet durable surface made of a thick single layer of polymer (completely vegan unlike the traditional gelatine gelli plates) and as it will be cleaned after each use, is completely reusable. This is a very playful technique which allows for lots of creativity and fun experimentation!
What people are saying:
“a lovely relaxing day learning how to layer different colours and shapes to create really unique and unexpected prints. I’m looking forward to making some notebooks with these.”
