Join us on this experimental monotype workshop, exploring botanical form and colour to inspire a playful approach to composition, mark making and one-off prints. Use your printing plate as your palette as you arrange and work with ink alongside petals, leaves and real flowers to explore the unexpected and exciting possibilities of monotype!
You will be introduced to the basic principles of the process exploring manipulating and playing with the ink using a variety of mark making tools before moving on to incorporate natural elements. A seasonal delight awaits as the first glimmers of summer are worked into your artwork!
Your tutor: Bachittar Singh
Experimental printmaker Bachittar ‘Bach’ Singh seeks to explore a range of processes within his practice, layering multiple techniques onto each print. Working with monotypes, monoprints, soft and hard-ground etching, aquatint, sugar-lift and drawing; his portfolio investigates both natural and urban imagery through playful experimentation of marks, tone and process.
The course is suitable for complete beginners or for anyone with a little knowledge wishing to learn more.
