We’ll help guide you through the, sometimes confusing, world of grant opportunities, sharing insider tips on the best places to look for funding that aligns with your artistic practice, including information specifically around Arts Council funding and how best to complete an application.
We’ll talk you through what to expect, breaking it down into manageable, bite-sized steps – ensuring you’re fully prepared.
Getting ‘grant ready’ has never been so crucial, and we’re here to help you prepare for the funding stage. Learning the essential steps to hopefully make yourself irresistible to grant providers!
As visual artists, the digital representation of your practice is really important and that’s why we’ll also be dedicating a chunk of the session to tips and tricks for taking stunning photos to accompany your written applications.

Your tutor: Clare Alton-Fletcher
Clare is the creative force behind West Yorkshire Print Workshop and committed to supporting fellow artists realise their creative aspirations. With a wealth of experience of working in the creative sector, Clare brings a unique blend of artistic passion and practical knowledge to the table.
As a key player in an Arts Funded Organisation and charity, Clare is no stranger to the world of grant funding. Her expertise involves not only crafting compelling bids but also sitting on selection panels, providing her with a well rounded understanding of what makes an application stand out.
The session will take place online via Zoom. You will be sent a link to the meeting upon booking and prior to the event. If you’ve not used Zoom before you can find out more and check your computer has the appropriate capabilities via the Zoom website. Please note; the session will be recorded and a copy of the recording will be sent to attendees after the event.

- Less than 12 weeks before the course: 100% of the fee will be retained by WYPW
