About artwork
David made a Willow Ladder sculpture at Grizedale Forest when he had a three month residency there in 1978 which was a pivotal time for how his work was developing. In 2021 he had an exhibition at Grizedale Forest Centre which recalled the residency and the work he produced and was delighted to find that part of the original Willow Ladder still survives! Inspired by this he decided to use it as subject for one of the stencil prints that he produced later that year to be shown at YSP with Full Circle.

About artwork
This is an orginal screen print, handprinted in Yorkshire by Lisa Stubbs using quality acrylic, printing paper and elbow grease.
This print is inspired by nostalgia conjured up from iconic graphics of classic kitchen food packaging. When teamed with fresh flowers, it brings back memories of the kitchens and gardens of Lisa’s childhood.

About artwork
I make colourful, painterly screen prints on fabric and paper. Hand-drawn positives are used to process photographic screens and prints are sometimes developed through the use of hand-cut stencils and block printing. Colour is very important in my work and sometimes I just love to play with mark making, pattern and shapes to create abstract compositions. I am also interested in how print and especially printed textiles has been used to promote social consciousness. Themes in my work explore class, feminism and recently environmental issues, at first glance the works look decorative – but then look closer…

About artwork
Dorrie King’s work explores the deconstruction of her parents old antique chairs. The pieces of each chair have been sliced to the height of a woodblock or a lead type. She then sets various combinations of these wooden blocks into a chase and prints them as letterpress blocks.
“The profiles of each piece, many of whose edges have been eroded over generations, offer endless possibilities and variations.”

About artwork
A few years ago I spent some time drawing the 360 degree view from the top of the dome of St Pauls Cathedral in London. This etching is one of a number of paintings and etchings related to these drawings.
“The Great Wen” is the disparaging name for London coined in the 1820’s by William Cobbett. Despite its intended meaning I find the phrase rather poetic.
