WYPW is committed to protecting your privacy.  This Fair Processing Notice sets out details of the information that we may collect from you and how we may use that information. Please take your time to read this.

We are WEST YORKSHIRE PRINT WORKSHOP (Company No. 7429968 Charity No.1147601 ) a print studio space and gallery dedicated to printmaking.  Learning and participation is at the heart of what we do.  We support artists in their professional print practice as well as providing print courses and visual art activities. 

We are committed to safeguarding your privacy.  At all times we shall keep safe and secure any personal data you share with us. This Privacy Statement sets out our data collection and processing policies and the way in which your data is used.

This Policy outlines how we use your personal information/data.  Providing us with your data is entirely up to you, if you do it means you will receive information about the work we do, including our course programme, exhibitions, learning and education and opportunities for selling and exhibiting your work (if applicable).

This statement has been written in line with the new GDPR guidelines.

The data we will collect is:

  • Name
  • Contact information including email address
  • Postcode (for statistical use)
  • Any other information which is relevant for our records and assists us in identifying the reach of our audience.

We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties.

Security of Data

When you book a course, sign up to a newsletter or contact us directly with your information we record your personal data. It is held electronically on a password secure cloud based system.  For example if you have signed up to our monthly newsletter the data is saved on the external server of Mail Chimp. Financial information is saved via our online bank Barclays PLC. In order to prevent unauthorised access of disclosure we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect either online or via signing up for our newsletter.

Consent

When you sign up for a course, membership or newsletter you will be asked if you are willing to consent to us holding your personal information (as detailed above). This should be given freely, specific, informed and unambiguous. 

The information will be used for the following reasons.

  • Informing you of our products and services
  • Contact you as a member of WYPW of exhibitions, events or changes to your membership

Legitimate Interest

Our data will be processed fairly and lawfully. 

Consent from a parent or guardian will be sought for anyone under the age of 18 or a vulnerable adult.  Age confirmation will be sought to verify the age of any young person who wishes to consent to their data being used.

Customer data requests

You may request details of your personal information which we hold about you under the Data Protection Act 1998. A small fee will be payable for this and we will supply you your information within one calendar month. Please note that we are not obliged to provide this information if it is felt that it is excessive or unfounded.

Website

We have links on our website to other websites which we feel will be of interest to you. However, once you have left our site and clicked to the other site be aware that we have no control over the security of the other site. Therefore we are not responsible for the privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting that site.

We use Google Analytics to analyse the use of our website. Google Analytics generates statistical and other information about website use by means of cookies, which are stored on users’ computers. On line payments

All our website financial transactions are handled through our payment services provider, PayPal. You can review the PayPal privacy policy at www.paypal.com. We will share information with PayPal only to the extent necessary for the purposes of processing payments you make via our website, refunding such payments and dealing with complaints and queries relating to such payments and refunds.

 

We may update this privacy policy from time to time by posting a new version on our website. You should check this page occasionally to ensure you are happy with any changes.
