New print initiative for kids : Postbox Print Club

Over the last few weeks here at WYPW H.Q. we have been working hard to develop our new kids focused print kits. Designed to inspire and engage the younger members of our printing community, Postbox Print Club will bring all the materials needed straight to their letterbox providing them with hours of fun (and a little bit of peace and quiet for the adults – unless of course they fancy having a go too)!

The postal home print kit is the first of several new initiatives to be launching post lockdown, recognising the importance and enthusiasm for creativity in the home. We asked WYPW member and illustrator extraordinaire Lisa Stubbs to help us in creating two kid focused postal print kits. After much tea and the scribbling of ideas, one of the end results was the super fun ‘printed people’ kit which will be first to launch at the end of August. Exploring monoprint and relief print techniques to create patterned papers with which to collage, kids can create a whole host of characters and exercise their imaginations, developing their own stories which will hopefully keep them entertained and out of mischief!

From bubblewrap hair to printed striped vests the possibilities for some inky play are endless and with water based inks included in the pack, parents don’t need to worry too much about the kids ruining the carpet 😉.

Recipient’s of the kit will be encouraged to share images of their creations to our online ‘postbox print club’ gallery space and use the hashtag #postboxprintclub for a chance to win various prizes.

Packs will be available on our website from the 28th August.
