Meet the Maker: Julie Turner
Julie Turner’s artistic career spans decades and continents. After studying Fine Art at Leeds University, she gained experience in screen printing, ceramics, and large-scale painting, leading innovative art programs in hospitals and schools. Since returning to Yorkshire in 2017, Julie has been an active member of WYPW and is now part of our Board of Directors, supporting the growth of our printmaking community.
Julie’s work is deeply influenced by her surroundings, often capturing textures, patterns, and architectural structures through printmaking. She explores a variety of techniques, including linocut, etching, drypoint, screen printing, and collagraph, with a strong focus on layered compositions and subtle colour palettes. However, for this event, she’ll be demonstrating the bold and striking art of linocut printing, providing a fantastic opportunity to witness this time-honoured technique first hand.
