Join Us for Heritage Open Days 2025 at WYPW Mirfield – Explore this years theme of Architecture with Printmaking

Join us at West Yorkshire Print Workshop this Heritage Open Day as we open our doors to celebrate both the architectural heritage of our home, a Victorian former school building, and the traditional craft techniques we keep alive within its walls. 

This year’s theme of architecture will be brought to life through a photo-etching demonstration, where visitors can see images of our building from the past 40 years transformed into intaglio prints using a contemporary printmaking technique with heritage roots. 

You’ll also be able to take part in a hands-on, collaborative monotype and relief printing activity – use plasticine to capture textures and patterns from the building itself or explore its architectural details through expressive mono-print drawing – should be fun and even the kids can get stuck in! 

Explore our artist studios (who doesn’t enjoy a behind the scenes nosey!?), browse original prints in the gallery shop, and enjoy refreshments as you discover the creative community working within this heritage space.
