Flourish Award 2018

15th September – 27th October 2018

West Yorkshire Print Workshop is delighted to present the Flourish Award
exhibition. Established in 2009 to champion printmakers working
throughout Yorkshire, Flourish now celebrates work from across the UK,
with an exhibition of artists selected from open submission.
The exhibition brings together a wide range of prints made by artists
shortlisted for this year’s award, selected by an independant panel of
judges. Tracy Hill, Awagami Prizewinner at Flourish 2017 and Research
Associate Artlab CPS at UCLan; David Sinclair, Head of Visual Art and
Engagment at The Civic, Barnsley; and Grant Scanlon, Huddersfield
Museums Manager considered artworks submitted from all over the
country. Their selection presents a diverse, rich and imaginative group
of 13 printmakers:

John Angus, Neil Bousfield, Kathryne Desforges, Maxine Foster, Jemma
Gunning, Sara Lee, Nazanin Moradi, Nigel Morris, Sin Park, Nicole
Polonsky, Hazel Roberts, Theresa Taylor and Michaela Wheater

The winner of this year’s award is Hazel Roberts, who will present a solo
exhibition at Huddersfield Art Gallery in 2019.
